PowerVIZ - a member of the sc.iViz product family
sc.iViz is a framework for science + computing’s technical & scientific visualisation programs. With the introduction of sc.iViz, s+c has created a joint technological basis for pre and post-processors such as PowerVIZ. This technology enables visualisation within engineering environments on a new level: intuitive operation, interactive analyses and high-performance display of results on anything from a laptop to a CAVE.
If you know one, you know them all
All of the programs within the sc.iViz range have the same user interface. Throughout the development of sc.iViz, particular attention was paid to intuitive operation. At the same time the GUI still remains completely reconfigurable according to the user's needs. With sc.iViz technology, irrespective of the platform type or whether it’s a desktop or PowerWall, the function you require is always where you expect it, just a mouse click away.
Quick insight into calculations
sc.iViz illustrates the data and processing actions of the engineer with exceptional performance. This is possible only thanks to the most modern visualisation technologies, which were implented in the development of the framework. This development was carried out in close collaboration with the University of Stuttgart and examples of such technologies include the direct acces of texture graphic hardware and the use of a joint scene graph layer. Visualize your analyses in real time, at your desk and in virtual reality.
Simulation at your fingertips
sc.iViz is consistently VR-capable. sc.iViz programs can be run also on PowerWall and CAVE, since they use multipipe and multiprocessing technology.To ensure user comfort while working in the virtual world, the framework supports VR input devices such as tracking devices or the spacemouse. This allows you to prepare analyses at your desk and then experience them vividly in a dedicated VR environment you wish.
You don't always have to do it all over again
sc.iViz offers the engineer extensive automation options: scripts allow you to describe and recall arbitrary process steps as you like. You can of course also create scripts by simply recording your actions. This allows you to easily automate the entire functional range of sc.iViz programs.
Getting serious - show me your results!
When you want to present your results, sc.iViz is also there to assist you. You can export images of your visualizations and insert them into slides, or simply put them in an archive. Films can be created with a click of your mouse using script directed actions. These films can then be emailed to your colleagues. sc.iViz doesn’t just stop there, it goes a step further: sc.iViz applications can also be coupled. This means that you and your colleagues or suppliers can jointly work on the same model simultaneously, regardless of the physical distance separating you.

Also your IT management will be pleased with sc.iViz products as the installation merges seamlessly into any concept. All tools consist of one single file each, which needs to be put at the users' disposal. The option is there to individually configure standard functionalities using the integrated python interface. You have a maximum of flexibility combined with a minimum of complexity.
