Advantages Offered by flowGuide
Focus on your core business
To use a flowGuide workflow all you have to do is set the required parameters in the Quick-GUI and start the flow. The rest is taken care of by flowGuide. It takes control of all parts of the procedure in your network, e.g. copying files, using pre- and postprocessing tools or starting applications. Finally, flowGuide produces a result. Since you do not have to worry about IT topics you can fully concentrate on the design. Also, new collegues do not need a lot of preliminary training to initiate complex calculation processes.
Accelerate your calculation results
Using flowGuide workflows saves a lot of time when setting up and performing calculations. flowGuide also speeds up workflow processing by executing workflow components in parallel - where possible. This minimizes the time required for obtaining the calculation result. flowGuide allows you to increase the number of your design cycles and yields reduced time to market.
Control Your calculation processes
Although your calculation processes are executed automatically, you still have full control over the jobs you have started. The Workflow Monitor allows you to view all running and completed workflows. Running workflows can be interrupted at any time.
Improve the quality of your calculations
flowGuide guides you when parameterizing your workflows. You can be confident not to have forgotten anything when preparing your calculation run. Before your workflow is executed, flowGuide checks if all calculation prerequisites are fulfilled and comes up with a message, if necessary. By clearly defining your processes in workflows you ensure that specific procedures are processed in exactly the same way: Calculations can therefore be reproduced at any time. flowGuide thus improves the quality of your engineering processes.
Maintain your processes efficiently
Your workflows can be easily maintained by flowGuide. Since the process definition of a procedure and its configuration parameters are kept separate, you can easily adjust your workflows to new IT requirements. New program versions can for example be integrated in no time. With flowGuide your processes remain transparent and are not vulnerable to changes. In addition, you can use already existing workflows to create new and even more complex workflows.
Use a future-proof system
flowGuide's platform-independent design allows you to use the hardware that you currently require without any limitations. Of course, the workflows are also portable, i.e. they run on any system. flowGuide is a future-proof system that is able to adapt to new computers and new software.
Organize your calculations transparently
flowGuide helps you to organize workflows and other data into projects. This allows you to reproduce at any time the date, the parameters and the execution host of your calculations. The organization in projects also allows you to start old calculation runs with slightly modified parameters or with other programs. But even on a higher level you can organize your calculation work more efficiently: Make your own flows available to colleagues to support them in solving own problems or authorize third persons to take care of your processes. Since flowGuide is configurable and platform-independent, this is possible without great expenditure.
Manage the know how of your engineering processes
By clearly defining the calculation processes you efficiently document the know-how of your engineering processes in your department. This know-how is then reproduceable in the future. Workflows can be maintained independent of the persons who created them. In addition, your processes can easiliy be reused in new contexts.
Maximum flexibility by using flowGuide
flowGuide is an open system that can be flexibly adjusted to your requirements. flowGuide's open interface, for example, allows to connect to batch systems. As a result, you do not have to consider the required computational resources when starting a workflow. flowGuide can be integrated in other software systems via its open interfaces. Examples are its integration in the optimization tool OptiSlang or in the web portal EnginFrame.
